Pelican Woods Cemetery and Nature Trail is the newest Cemetery in Crow Wing County and very possibly the State. Pelican Woods is located at 8676 Ski Chalet Drive (one block west of County Road 11) in the City of Breezy Point. For Information call the City at (218) 562-4441.

The Pelican Woods Cemetery and Nature Trail is designed as a final resting place for those who love the woods and lakes encompassing Breezy Point.

When completed, the 1000 lot Cemetery will be in the unique position of providing a facility for both traditional and crematory burials in a rich forest setting featuring rolling terrain, beautiful flower gardens and a nature trail for personal reflection and meditation.

The cemetery appeals to year-round residents, and those who have chosen the Breezy Point area in which to weekend and vacation over the years. Cemetery lots are available for purchase by all those interested.

The Pelican Woods Cemetery and Nature Trail is operated under the direction of a 5 to 7 member Breezy Point Cemetery Commission authorized by the City Council.

Phases One and Two consist of 599 lots and includes landscaping, abundant flowers, paved street and markers flush to the ground to maintain the park-like beauty of the area. A soothing "water-feature" was completed in the fall of 2007 near the shelter area and in 2010 a natural berm at the entrance was created for additional privacy from the adjacent road.

The sculpture for the All Veteran's Memorial was designed by local artist Jeff Kreitz. Dedication for the structure was held June 15, 2013.

The 60 niche Columbaria was installed October 15, 2014 across from the shelter area in Phase II. Each niche holds up to two urns and cost includes the opening and closing of the niche for inurnment, the niche plaque and inscription, and perpetual care.
